Death of Jim Hampton
That this House notes with the greatest sadness the death, on 1 July 2026, of Jim Hampton, managing director of the Newcastle-under-Lyme based Hamptons Group, at the age of 79; pays tribute to his lifetime of dedication to building up his family business and supporting the local economy in Newcastle-under-Lyme and Staffordshire alongside his family and staff; commends his unwavering work ethic, honesty and determination, which has made this Staffordshire business what it is today; further commends his generosity and support for the local community; further notes the hundreds of tributes paid to Mr Hampton by local people that acknowledged his outstanding character and life of commitment to others; and extends its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
