Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Manuela Perteghella (Liberal Democrat), on Wednesday, 2 September 2026, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 15 members in total.
E1 settlement project and international law
That this House notes with deep concern the advancement of the E1 settlement project in the occupied West Bank; believes that continued settlement expansion undermines the prospects for a negotiated two-state solution; reaffirms that Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories are considered illegal under international law; further notes ongoing humanitarian suffering in Gaza, restrictions on the delivery of aid, and reports of violence against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank; welcomes diplomatic efforts aimed at securing peace, security and dignity for both Israelis and Palestinians; and recognises that the United Kingdom has responsibilities under international law and should ensure that its policies are consistent with those obligations.
