Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lisa Smart (Liberal Democrat), on Monday, 12 October 2026, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 9 members in total.
Speed camera guidance
That this House recognises the critical role that speed cameras play in the preventing and reducing road deaths, the value of initiatives such as GM Vison Zero aiming to cut road deaths to zero, that the Government’s Road Safety Strategy published in 2026 called for the updating of Circular 01/2007 regarding the use of speed and red light cameras, and that updating this to ensure that local and regional authorities are working to introduce speed cameras where problems have been identified ahead of fatalities or serious injury incidents would help prevent and reduce such deaths.
