SEARCH AND RESCUE FLIGHT - RAF LEUCHARS (NO. 3)

That this House, recognising the vital role of search and rescue helicopter operations from RAF Leuchars in providing civil and military search and rescue along the east coast of Scotland, deplores the decision to withdraw this service on 1st April 1993; notes the contribution made by this service to safety in a wide range of popular activities from hill walking and climbing to fishing and other maritime pursuits; and calls upon the Government to reverse this disastrous and dangerous decision.
