DISMISSAL OF BRITISH NATIONAL PARTY MEMBER

That this House commends the Department of Employment for taking action to dismiss Simon Chadwick a member of the British National Party, from his post in the Inner Cities Unit having previously been employed at its job centre in Church Street, Sheffield; gives its full support to the campaign run by the Civil and Public Services Association and their supporters to expose Chadwick's views and British National Party membership and to campaign for his dismissal; requests the Department of Employment to drop all threatened disciplinary action against CPSA branch officers; affirms its viewpoint that those who engage in fascist and racist activities, whether inside or outside their employment, are not fit people to hold sensitive jobs in public service; and trusts that Government departments will act with similar speed and determination in all future such cases.
