Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Steel of Aikwood, on Tuesday, 19 May 1992, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 73 members in total.
EARTH SUMMIT DEBATE
That this House notes the comments of the head of the United Nations Environment Programme, Dr Mostafa Tolba, that the Earth Summit represents 'the best, perhaps the last, chance to save the planet'; and therefore believes that, given the unique importance of the Earth Summit starting on 3rd June, Her Majesty's Government should arrange a full debate in this House in advance of the Summit meeting.
