Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor William Powell (Conservative), on Tuesday, 12 July 1994, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 27 members in total.
WAR CRIMINALS FROM THE FORMER YUGOSLAVIA
That this House is very concerned at the slow progress in bringing forward criminal prosecutions before the Ad Hoc Tribunal to try war criminals from the former Yugoslavia; has learnt of the Final Report of the Commission of Experts to the Secretary General, established under United Nations Resolution 780, now submitted to the Security Council; has noted the appalling and detailed evidence of war crimes contained in the report; and urges Her Majesty's Government to insist that resolute action is now taken to ensure that those responsible for the most dreadful crimes are brought before the tribunal.
