Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Nick Ainger (Labour), on Tuesday, 10 May 1994, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 34 members in total.

FUNDING OF NHS PAY AWARD IN WALES COMPARED WITH ENGLAND

That this House is shocked that the average percentage cash increase for 1994-95 for the National Health Service in Wales is only 2. 82 per cent. compared to the England increase of 5.4 per cent.; notes that on 22nd April, Mr Derek Morgan the Chairman of Welsh National Health Service Trust Chairmen's Group, informed the Secretary of State for Wales that it is inevitable that trusts in Wales will effect job losses across the board; believes that these job losses will directly affect patient care; and demands that the Secretary of State for Wales immediately ensures that patients are protected and the NHS in Wales receives the same level of increase in cash resources as their English counterparts, by funding the 2.9 per cent. pay award to nurses, doctors and midwives in Wales.
