ASSOCIATED OCTEL

That this House recognises the skill and bravery of the Cheshire firefighters involved in tackling the events at Associated Octel on 1st February 1994; further recognises the equal importance of all the emergency services, including the emergency planning team; and calls upon the Government to initiate a full and public inquiry into the cause of the incident, to identify the steps which need to be taken to avoid further incidents, and to ensure that the relevant local authorities and companies are given the fullest support by Her Majesty's Government to avoid such risks in the future.
