Linda Perham: To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what recent representations he has made to the Government of Syria regarding the presence of its intelligence apparatus in Lebanon. [224124] Mr. Rammell: Through our embassy in Damascus we have made several representations to the Syrian Government regarding the need for a complete and early withdrawal of all Syrian troops and intelligence personnel from Lebanon. My right hon. and noble Friend the Baroness Symons of Vernham Dean, Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, made the same points when she saw the Syrian ambassador on 7 March.
