Premier League Football (TV Rights)

- (4) what discussions (a) Ofcom and (b) the Office of Fair Trading have had since 1 June 2004 with (i) the European Commission and (ii) the European Commissioner for Competition on the matter of deciding the structure of FA premier league television broadcasting rights from season 2007–08 onwards.

The matters raised are the responsibility of Ofcom and OFT, as independent regulators. Accordingly, officials have asked the Chief Executives of both organisations to respond directly to the hon. Member. Copies of the Chief Executives' letters will be placed in the Libraries of both Houses.
