European Foreign Ministers Meeting
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what the total cost was of policing the European Foreign Ministers conference at the Celtic Manor Hotel in Newport; and what financial contribution his Department made.
- Answer
-
I understand from the chief constable of Gwent police that the total projected costs for policing the conference are £3.6 million. This includes total additional policing costs of £3.2 million as well as other consequential policing costs. Gwent police have submitted an application for special police grant as a contribution to the additional costs incurred of policing the conference. This is currently under consideration.
