- To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many private dwellings in Northern Ireland have been allocated heating and insulation grants in each of the last five years.

Heating and insulation grants are provided to private dwellings through the Warm Homes Scheme and the number of homes that have benefited from grants is as follows.
Year of scheme Number of homes in Northern Ireland July 2001 to 31 March 2002 3,146 Year ending 31 March 2003 7,484 Year ending 31 March 2004 7,144 Year ending 31 March 2005 8,557 Up to 14 November 2005 5,612 Private sector grants for heating and insulation are also available, but the figures requested could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
