The Department has received several communications about the timing of the decision to be taken by the Secretary of State on a public inquiry information on the costs of holding an inquest, and a paper outlining the coroner's views on the difficulties he might face in conducting the inquest into the deaths at Potters Bar. As a result of these representations, the Secretary of State has agreed, if necessary, to fund the coroner's costs for the inquest.
