Asbestos
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions if he will extend the Health and Safety Executive's consultation period on the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006.
- Answer
-
The consultation on the proposed changes to the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2002 is being undertaken by the Health and Safety Commission. The length of the consultation period is therefore a matter for the Commission, not Ministers. I understand that this was set by the Commission in its meeting of 11 October 2005. I am informed by the HSC that key stakeholders have now submitted their views.
