British Grand Prix (Policing)
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what recent representations she has received requesting financial support for policing at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
- Answer
-
I have received a number of representations from the British Racing Drivers Club (BRDC) requesting financial support for policing at the British Grand Prix (BGP) at Silverstone. While there are ongoing discussions between the BRDC, Home Office, Northamptonshire police force and other interested parties about the level of charging, the Government has made clear that it will not provide funding for future police costs incurred as part of the BGP.
