Oral answer to question provided on Wednesday, 29 March 2006 in the House of Lords, by Lord Drayson (Labour).

Armed Forces: US Missile Defence

Answer

My Lords, we have not got to the point of discussing the basis on which any such technology may or may not be sited on UK soil or anywhere in Europe, and so it would not be appropriate to get into discussion of the conditions under which such technology may be deployed.

This is an answer to the Oral question asked on Wednesday, 29 March 2006 by Lord Garden (Liberal Democrat).

Question
My Lords, given the particular dangers from anti-missile missile systems of friendly fire incidents, as we have seen in various tragic cases, can the Minister today assure the House that, if any missiles were placed on United Kingdom territory by another nation, we would retain dual key control of them?
