Construction Industry
- Question
- If he will make a statement on the contribution of the construction industry to the UK economy. [67726]
- Answer
-
The construction industry is one of the most important sectors of our economy. It accounts for 8.3 per cent. of UK gross domestic product and employs 2.1 million people. I am impressed by the improved integrated teamwork shown by the industry, which has been given a tremendous opportunity to showcase its strengths in the build up to the 2012 Olympics.
