Parliamentary Ombudsman

- Further to the Written Answer by the Lord Bassam of Brighton on 29 March (WA 126), on how many occasions since 1997, and in respect of which specific recommendations, the Treasury Solicitor’s Department has refused or omitted to give effect to the recommendations of the Parliamentary Ombudsman.

The Treasury Solicitor’s Department has had three cases upheld by the Parliamentary Ombudsman since 1997. The department has not located papers on two of the cases, which predated 2001, but can confirm that the recommendation of the ombudsman was followed in the third case.
