Parliamentary Ombudsman

- Further to the Written Answer by the Lord Bassam of Brighton on 21Â March (WA 40), why they do not record centrally the occasions and circumstances in which they have refused to give effect to recommendations by the Parliamentary Ombudsman; and whether they will take steps to do so in future.

Individual departments are responsible for taking forward the Parliamentary Ombudsman’s recommendations. The Parliamentary Ombudsman highlights particular cases in her annual reports to Parliament, and is also able to publish special reports to Parliament under Section 10(3) of the Parliamentary Commissioner Act 1967.
