- To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what recent assessment she has made of personnel levels within the Civil Contingencies Secretariat.

[holding answer 3 July 2006]: As part of the Department’s annual planning process, Civil Contingencies Secretariat (CCS) personnel levels were reviewed alongside other Units within the Cabinet Office in June 2006. CCS resources for 2007-08 remain in the range of 85-90 staff (including those at the Emergency Planning College).
