Government Departments: Special Advisers

- Further to the Written Answer by the Lord Bassam of Brighton on 10 July (WA 89), how many assistants currently support special advisers to Ministers in the Ministry of Defence; and what is the nature of their services.

Non-political administrative support to the special advisers is provided by one permanent Ministry of Defence Civil Service ““senior personal secretary”” post in accordance with the requirements of the Code of Conduct for Special Advisers.
