Nuclear Submarines

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence whether Trident submarines are routinely loaded with their full complement of 16 missiles; and if he will make a statement.
Answer

The Trident submarine on patrol can carry up to 16 missiles but normally carries fewer. I am withholding further information as its release would, or would be likely to, prejudice the defence of the United Kingdom.
