Oral question asked in the House of Lords, by Lord Campbell-Savours (Labour). It was answered on Thursday, 8 February 2007.
Health: MRSA
- Question
- My Lords, is there not a linkage between bed occupancy and MRSA?
- Answer
-
My Lords, there is no question but that very high bed occupancy presents some challenges in relation to MRSA. Equally, we know that a number of hospitals with high occupancy rates are getting their MRSA rates down. The guidance to the health service makes it clear that infection control teams and bed managers must work closely together and do everything they can to eradicate the problem.
