Question
asked Her Majesty's Government:What representations they have made to the Government of Iraq and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees on the protection of 3,500 Iranian exiles in Camp Ashraf.
Answer

We have encouraged the Iraqi Ministry of Human Rights to ensure that any action taken with regard to Camp Ashraf respects the rights of the individuals involved and is in line with international standards. We understand that the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has been working with the Iraqi Ministry of Human Rights to assist the voluntary return of approximately 300 residents of Camp Ashraf.
