Midland Mainline

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if she will take steps to ensure the maintenance of standards of the train service on Midland Mainline to and from Kettering during the remainder of the existing franchise period.

Answer: The quality of service obligations contained in the Midland Mainline Franchise Agreement remain in force until the end of the current franchise and are closely monitored. Additionally, the Franchise Agreement contains provisions that come into force during the last 12 months of a franchise which ensure the franchisee continues to provide good service and maintain franchise standards and value for the government and the incoming franchisee.
