Passports: Interviews

Question
Whether they intend to review the policy and implementation of passport personal interview offices.
Answer

My noble friend Lord Bassam gave the Government’s position in the House of Lords on Thursday 15 March, when he said: "““I cannot agree with the suggestion that the Government should review their policy on the introduction of interviews for first-time passport applicants. It is an important process””.—[Official Report, 15/3/07; col. 927.]"
