My noble friend Lord Bassam gave the Government’s position in the House of Lords on Thursday 15 March, when he said: "““I cannot agree with the suggestion that the Government should review their policy on the introduction of interviews for first-time passport applicants. It is an important process””.—[Official Report, 15/3/07; col. 927.]"
