- To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families how many schools in each local education authority taught synthetic phonics in each of the last five years.
- Answer

Phonics has been part of the national curriculum since it was introduced in 1998. However, we do not hold information on the number of schools teaching synthetic phonics.
