- To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make it his policy to ensure the development of ground-based laser defence systems as part of the UK's counter-mortar and counter-rocket capabilities.

I can confirm that the Ministry of Defence continues to assess the potential of a range of technologies, including laser, to provide counter-indirect fire capability.
