Kosovo: Ethnic Groups

- To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when a Government representative last visited the displaced persons Roma sites in Kosovo; and what the result of their investigations was.

Department for International Development officials visited the Roma camps in Kosovo in April 2008. Senior representatives from our embassy in Pristina have attended a number of meetings, including one organised by the Roma community itself, and conferences about the situation of the Roma. The last such meeting was on 13 June 2008.I refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave to my right hon. Friend the Member for Rotherham (Mr. MacShane) on 4 November 2008, Official Report, column 282W.
