- asked Her Majesty's Government:Further to the Written Answer by Lord Tunnicliffe on 30 October (WA 120) regarding the western Orissa rural livelihoods project, what were the income levels in the target communities (a) in 2000, and (b) at the most recent date for which figures are available.

In the areas covered by the western Orissa rural livelihoods project, the average household income in the financial year 2000-01 was Rs 14,803 per year (about £185 at current exchange rates). The average household income rose to Rs 24,811 per year (£310 at current exchange rates) in the financial year 2006-07. This represents an increase of about 67 per cent over a period of six years.
