Portman Building Society: Landsbanki

- (2) whether the Financial Services Authority insisted that existing depositors should have the right to withdraw their deposits as a condition of the sale of the Portman Building Society's Guernsey subsidiary to Landsbanki;

Portman Building Society (““Portman””) did not sell its Guernsey deposit taking subsidiary (Portman Channel Islands Ltd.) to Landsbanki.Portman sold this subsidiary in April 2007 to the Scarborough Building Society which renamed the company Scarborough Channel Islands Ltd. Scarborough Building Society continues to own this subsidiary.
