Afghanistan and Iraq: Peacekeeping Operations

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what the standard rifle used by (a) the Royal Marine Commando, (b) each UK special force and (c) each other UK service is in (i) Iraq and (ii) Afghanistan.
Answer

The standard rifle used by all UK forces, excluding Special Forces, is the SA80 A2. It is the policy of this Department not to comment on matters relating to UK Special Forces.
