Government Departments: Security

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what security checks his Department undertakes on independent security assessors appointed to positions in (a) the Cabinet Office and (b) other departments.
Answer

The Defence Vetting Agency undertakes national security vetting for employees of a number of Government Departments, not including the Cabinet Office, where appropriate to the needs of those Departments.
