Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Bill [HL]

Question
To ask Her Majesty's Government who within Communities and Local Government will be responsible for monitoring the implementation of Part 1 of the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Bill; and what the estimated cost of this will be.
Answer

Part 1 of the Local Democracy Economic Development and Construction Bill covers a number of different policy areas, mainly arising from the White Paper Communities in Control. The implementation of Part 1 will be monitored through the management of the wider empowerment programme and our monitoring of delivery against public service agreements including PSA 21, which is concerned with building more cohesive, empowered and active communities. It is not possible to disaggregate the costs of monitoring Bill provisions from the wider empowerment programme management.
