Kosovo: Foreign Relations

- To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what progress has been made on establishing diplomatic relations with the Republic of Kosovo; and if he will make a statement.

The UK established its embassy in Pristina on 18 February 2008, the day after the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Kosovo. The current British ambassador to Kosovo is Mr. Andrew Sparkes CMG.Kosovo's Chargé d'Affaires to the UK was appointed on 20 October 2008. The embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in London was officially opened on 2 March 2009.
