Departmental Public Expenditure

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families how much has been allocated to the Youth of Today programme in each of the next five years, and under which budgetary headings such expenditure falls.
Answer

The allocation for The Youth of Today programme is 3,416,000 in FY 2009-10 and £2,671,000 in FY 2010-11.These costs are to deliver a fellowship programme; ministerial shadowing scheme; a local shadowing scheme; a young leader's campaign; stimulate the youth leadership sector and create a leadership progression framework; deliver a £1 million grant opportunity scheme; promote leadership in education; connect international best practice and provide youth led support and challenge to government and public services.
