- To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer which indicators of competition in the UK retail banking sector his Department monitors; and if he will make a statement.

HM Treasury has a departmental objective to support fair, stable and efficient financial markets. In pursuit of this objective the Department has regard to a range of quantitative and qualitative information including from the Office of Fair Trading, Financial Services Authority and other bodies.
