RAF: Official Visits

Question
To ask Her Majesty's Government on what occasions the Prime Minister has visited a Royal Air Force base to honour those killed in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Answer

Repatriation ceremonies at RAF bases are primarily military in nature and the current protocols reflect this. The Prime Minister and other government Ministers have accepted the advice of the service chiefs that these ceremonies are very much an occasion for the families and the military to pay their respects.
