Business question from Greg Mulholland (Liberal Democrat) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 26 November 2009. It occurred during Business statement on Business of the House.
Business of the House
Tetley's ales have been brewed in Leeds since 1822, but now the parent company, Carlsberg, is seeking to close the brewery and brew under licence at another brewery, rumoured to be Black Sheep in Marsham. May we have a debate on honesty in product promotion? Tetley's can only be a Leeds beer if brewed in Leeds with Leeds water: anything else would not be Tetley's.
