- To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) what his most recent estimate is of the revenue lost in a year through the non-payment of value added tax and excise duty on (a) wine, (b) spirits and (c) tobacco;

The Department does not currently have an estimate for the level of fraud in wine.The most recent estimate of the revenue lost for spirits and tobacco was published in "Measuring Tax Gaps—2009" in November 2009 and is available in the House of Commons Library and can be found on the internet at:"http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/stats/measuring-tax-gaps.htm"
