To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families how many teachers in full-time employment there were in (a) the North West and (b) Manchester Central constituency in each year since 1997.

[holding answer 29 March 2010]: The following table provides the full-time number of teachers employed in local authority maintained schools, city technology colleges and academies in the north west Government office region and Manchester Central constituency in each January, 1997 to 2009.
