Saudi Arabia
- Question
- To ask Her Majesty’s Government what is their response to the suspension of the investigation into the arms deal signed with Saudi Arabia in 1985; and whether they will take action against Saudi princes who were alleged to be involved.
- Answer
-
In July 2008 the House of Lords ruled that the decision of the Serious Fraud Office to discontinue its investigation into alleged bribery and corruption surrounding the contract to supply tornados to the Government of Saudi Arabia was lawful. The Government respect that decision. Any further action is a matter for the Serious Fraud Office.
