RAF Welford

- To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what powers the unarmed guards assigned to duties at the US base at RAF Welford have.

All Ministry of Defence (MOD) Guard Service personnel have the power to make a citizen's arrest.In addition to this, MOD Guard Service at RAF Welford also have a power of arrest as a crown servant under the RAF Welford bye-laws. These are authorised by the appropriate authority, who in this case is the RAF Station Commander at Welford.
