Parking Fines

- To ask Her Majesty’s Government how many local authorities have (a) not applied for, (b) applied for but not received, and (c) applied for and been refused, civil parking enforcement powers under the Traffic Management Act 2004.

Of a total of 327 eligible local authorities in England, 271 have civil parking enforcement (CPE) powers, including all the 34 London local authorities. Of the 56 local authorities without CPE powers, one has applied for the powers and will be receiving them in December 2010. The Secretary of State has never refused an application for CPE powers.
