Housing
- Question
- To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether they will place in the Library of the House a copy of their reply to the letter containing allegations from the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right to Adequate Housing.
- Answer
-
The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Right to Adequate Housing wrote to Her Majesty’s Government on 12 April 2010 asking a number of questions about a traveller site in Essex. The Government replied to her letter on 31 August 2010. Communications between the special rapporteur and Governments are confidential at an initial stage until the summary of the letters and the answer of the Government are included in an addendum to the annual report submitted by the special rapporteur to the United Nations Human Rights Council. I will place a copy in the Library once the United Nations has made the correspondence public.
