UN Conference on Women

Question
To ask the Minister for Women and Equalities which (a) Ministers and (b) officials will attend the forthcoming UN Beijing follow-up conference; and who will lead the delegation.
Answer

[holding answer 14 February 2011]: The United Nations Commission on the Status of Women meeting is being held in New York from 22 February to 4 March. The UK delegation is being led by the head of the Women's National Machinery and deputy director within the Government Equalities Office (GEO). She will be supported by two GEO officials (one per week) and by one Foreign and Commonwealth Office official. Ministers are not planning to attend.
