Health Education: Nutrition

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Education what plans he has to require schools to teach more about food and nutrition.
Answer

At present food is one of the components that may be studied at Key Stage 3 within the design and technology curriculum. On 20 January, my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State announced that we are conducting a review of the national curriculum at both primary and secondary levels. This review includes consideration of the status of design and technology (and all its constituent modules).
