Pets: Animal Welfare
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what her policy is on banning the use of cat containment fences.
- Answer
-
Any restriction on the use of containment fences would require new legislation to be introduced. If the Government were to propose new legislation to ban the use of containment fences, there would be a public consultation exercise to provide the opportunity for interested individuals and organisations to provide their comments on the Government's proposals. All comments received would then be carefully considered before the introduction of any such legislation.
