Armed Forces: Stationing

Question
To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether they will consider a policy of stationing regiments of the Army near or in areas after which they are named and from which most recruits come.
Answer

There are a number of factors which influence the selection of locations for Army bases. These include estate availability, access to training areas, unit cohesion and integration with local communities. Regional connections and representation are also taken into account, where appropriate.
